Did you get a smooth cut? Any fraying?
Do you recall what type of blade you used?
Can you guess on the psi during curing?

I like your method. Hmmm....food for thought.

I layered 2x2 twill cloth above a  
layer of poly sheeting which sat on top of a 3/4 inch piece of  
plywood.  Once the layers were sufficiently embedded with epoxy I  
folded over the sheet of poly, put another sheet of plywood on top,  
then a 1 inch thick aluminum disc and lowered the front left wheel of  
my Toyota Prius down on it over night.  The next morning I removed the  
cured mass and cut a large square on my table saw. I cut pieces from  
the square as needed and they have proven to be very rigid and  
probably bullet proof.
