Paying attention sure, but
not without having good explanation for it. Just blindly following is bad
because tool pressure is just one of many parameters in play (temp, pitch 
type). Probably
there is not only one combination of parameters for good results.
And not to be forgotten old mantra that most mirrors made by professionals
are not so good as what amateurs do. Understandably so because pros are 
after
profit and their specifications are adjusted accordingly, while amateurs 
are after
 thrill and often after perfection at any cost.
Of course I am not speaking about professionals like Roger Angel or mirrors 
like
for ESO ( but I may mention  Hubble mirror made by Perkin Elmer 
professionals).
