To the extent that there are issues, one way to deal with them is to
ensure accurate mechanical centering of the mirror. A way to do this is
my suggestion of center spotting the back as well as the front of the
mirror. In addition to the rear center spot, you need to build into the
cell a center pointer of some sort. With those two items in place, the
first step in collimation becomes adjusting the physical location of the
mirror so that the mirror center is centered with respect to the
mechanical structure of the telescope. With those two in place, it will
be a relatively easy process to determine when the mirror is centered.
This could also be accomplished with the front side center spot, and a
removable pointer that can be reliably replaced in the correct center
position.
