I have a $15 variac. Hard to find a three phase inverter in that price
range.

BTW, this motor appears similar to my motor (although a bit less powerful).

add a variac like http://www.action-electronics.com/variac.htm - you can
get them cheaper if you shop around. I only have 1 variac - I run one
motor at speed and slow the other (fast TT slow OA for grinding, slow TT
fast OA for polishing/figuring).

Don't forget a power cord, switch and fuse.

Note that I'm not endorsing these products nor vendors, and you may find
something better and/or cheaper if you look around. I just googled and
took the first things that looked halfways decent.
