100 watts is a little on the anemic side, and I'd worry about power
losses in reducing the speed by a factor of 800. As a point of
reference, for my machine I was lucky to find two nominally 1/4 HP 72
RPM DC motors rated 24V @ 14A! I reduced it 1:2.5 with a pulley and
added a variac to adjust speed. The largest glass I've put on it was 18"
which it handled fine.
