Howard's book is also in a number of public libraries. If your's
doesn't have it, they can get it by interlibrary loan. ILL, in the
United States can get books from nearly any public library (and many
academic ones also). Here in Pittsburgh, I have received ILL books from
as far away as California and from the engineering library at Penn
State. Of course you only get two or three weeks to read it, maybe
twice that if you renew. The only other problem is that ILL tends to
work at librarian speed, which is, shall we say, stately.
