Re: [ATM] looking for illustrations of different telescope.
Hello Harro,
I recently taught the Astronomy merit badge to a group
of scouts and created a powerpoint presentation from
images and ideas from the internet. After the in class
primer, we took them out near Joshua Tree National
park and let them look through my 16" tridob, and a
friend's 11" SCT. That was a hoot! When I created the
presentation I captured some animated graphics from
the Meade website that depict light path movement in
the three typical types of telescopes (reflector,
refractor and cassegrain). Sadly, it appears that
Meade (and Celestron) has altered their site and
removed these descriptions/animations, so I can't
provide a link.
I don't have the file here at work, but I can forward
it to you later.
If you don't hear from me in a day or so, please
remind me to send the file! The animations sound
exactly like what you're looking for.
Thanks,
Dave
