Re: [ATM] SM4

Sorry, Marinus, but the 'dream' scope of most ATM'ers is the Hubble, even if

it was 'professionally' made, and who wouldn't want the opportunity to visit

their 'dream' scope? And, what true ATM'er wants to see a very useful
telescope fall into disrepair and burn up in the atmosphere, never to be
used again? (When it does eventually fall from orbit, I'm hoping the mirror

makes it down in one piece, unscarred, falls in my backyard, and that NASA
doesn't want it back!!!!)

Maybe the heat of re-entry will precision anneal it and slump it to a
perfect mirror ;)

On a serious note I am very glad the HST is being serviced. Some say they
are worried that this will push back project such as the James Webb Scope.
Perhaps, but Hubble still has a lot to contribute. And the risk is
definitely there. But overall I would say it is a very good idea from a
personal, scientific, humanitarian point of view.
