I use a method that is easier and faster to implement than what Virgil 
described although not as light absorbant.  Just spray a light coat of 
flat black on the corregated side of the cardboard and slide it into the 
tube in sections.  If you cut the length (circumference of the tube) 
just right you don't even need to glue it into the tube except on the 
ends.  It works especially well for refractor tubes where you can cut 
the length of the sections to correspond to the distance apart of the 
glare stops, squeezing them between sections.
