dear friends can anyone help me with a design or information on making OPTICAL FLAT MACHINE? 
  i have tried making flat 4" ,newtons ring were not perfectly round and then the curves were not perfect curved but were uneven ....i was making three elements and calculating the curve by solving simultaneous equation.
  i had been using a neon bulb (a mercury vapour lamp or a sodium lamp could be used but found it expensive)
  and hand grinding them now i want to make a machine.
  my requirement is making a 6" optical flat making machine.
