I use my web cam most of the time.  I made a simple 'stage', (a chunk of 2x4 with piece of cardboard on top for that last little bit of lift), the right height to set the camera on so it looks through the ronchi grid.  I get the shot by eye, then set the cam up and snap the photo.  That is how I have posted the ronchi shots I posted here.
