Re: [ATM] Fiberglass tubes

<< Wish the flocking instructions were as thorough as yours!

As I recall, all the instructions said was to test adhesion on a
similar surface. It stuck fine for a few days, but later on it failed.

That's just my experience. It is a good product, and sticks well to
clean surfaces like plastic, which makes it great for the inside of
light shields, provided they will not be bent into sharp curves when
they are installed on the scope. I also don't know how it would hold
up to dew. >>

Mike, Wellllll......that is just my experience talking. Sometimes
things you learn in another hobby help in ATMing. I learned about
cleaning fluid after messing up a woodworking project that gotten
contaminated with gasoline. Some idiot had used gas to remove crayon
markings from some wood that his kids had been playing with. This
numbskull proceeded to use the wood in the most obvious place in the
project. The residue from the gasoline wouldn't let the stain penetrate
properly and I......I mean he almost ruined many hours of work. His
next door neighbor commented that he used cleaning fluid (Energene...
remember it?) to get grease off of electronic parts before soldering
them. It worked. Its great for removing the residue from labels on
bottles that I store things in in the work shop. After that, you can
stick any kind of Avery label on the bottle and it won't come off!.
