Re: [ATM] New 16" telescope design

Rod,
Yep, I blew it. The web page has been corrected, with a link to the
manufacturer. I am thinking of using the same composite material that
Albert Highe used. Excellent use of material. The material is basically a
thin skin of plywood on top of a light weight core (in this case, cardboard
paper).

I need to think this over. The current design for DS-3, which is a 12"
scope, produces fabulous images. I am basically trying to use this 12"
design, but take it to a 16" scope. Don't forget that I am going to use
double sided sticky tape, that has a soft filler of about 1/8". That way,
the wood will NEVER come in direct or indirect contact with the glass. The
reason I chose ply is that is what I will have available.

Yes - I will definately look at Albert's designs once again. He does
wonderful work.
