Theoretically, no.  Both designs should have been optimized
for the given thicknesses.

In implementation, though, the thinner lenses may have been
"flexed" during the manufacturing process.  (I've asked this
question on the list before; most seemed to disagree with
my conclusions...)  When you get "really" thin, the finished
lens itself will bend; this is usually countered by an
equivalent amount of bending of the other side -- to a high
degree, they cancel.
