[ATM] Cooling Fans and Image quality

  To all on the list,

My new 9"x 5/8" primary mirror, (made of soda lime glass), is very
happy on a six point cell.
I installed a 12volt vibration free (computer fan) to blow
"across" the primary mirror's
surface for cooling and for keeping dew at bay... It is very
sucessful at keeping the
moisture off the mirror's face, but in high humidity
conditions it will lag after about
                4 hours..
To say that this cooling, changes images seen through the
eyepiece, maybe...
What I mean to say is that the temp. change was not more
than 5 degrees, and
I myself saw no difference when the fan was on or off.
Although this may
change dramatically in colder temps. , in small
changes in temp I saw no difference.
Plate glass mirrors produce fantastic images... and if
they are supported correctly,
can impress even the professional (if you call
yourself that)
