Well, I do science imaging and my images never look this horrendous,
which is why I asked about this. Partly it was humor, but partly
trying to find out more about the camera and optics. It appears that
the chip(s) has defects that my imaging systems do not have. The
aberrations seens in the images are also a bit confusing and I
would never want to do any kind of photometric analysis on such
images, at least not without learning what this is first. I do not
encounter such effects in my work.

Kind of my point. Nothing was specified yet.
