Let's put 9t this way, slumping isn't going to be a $100 process
that is easily done at home with a potter's kiln.
You can use a potter's kiln but it needs to get to the upper
range of what one can do and needs a good controller to allow the
proper desent through the annealing temp range.  In addition, you
need a large potter's kiln as you have to lay the glass out flat
in the kiln - kilns are more setup for taller objects so they
don't have that much floor area.
Once you get all that setup, the job of doing a slump is not that
expensive as you will be running the kiln for a day or so for the
process, more or less depending upon the thickness of the glass.
