This is very strong statement which like any other
such statements can be negated by just one good example
that opposite is true.

Richard Schwartz ( and some others from the atm list)
did slumping as amateurs, and succesfully by the way.
And not only they did slumping, they successfully produced
 ribbed blanks,  much more demanding process than slumping.

I am not saying that this is easy but amateurs are not
known to go only easy way or avoid challenges.
