I can tell you I have turned every edge I have worked on, some worse than
others.  I can usually gain some of it back, if not correct it completely,
with tool on top, or with short strokes on a hard lap.  I suspect I turn
my edges because I do not put a decent enough bevel on the edge of the
mirror.

That and I get excited and stroke long, or too fast.  I start pushing on
the near or far edge as I stroke and astigmatise the glass as well as turn
the edge.

Some day, as god is my witness, some day I will do a decent mirror!
