[ATM] Fiberoptic Faceplate Field Flattener ?
Hello everybody,
I saw an interesting item at Surplusshed , which seems to be a fiberoptic
faceplate. This is flat on one side and concave on the other and has a large
number of coherent fibers .
This is the item:

The question is, does anybody know how many fibers to expect from such a
thingy ? It all depends where it came from, could have multimegapixel
resolution and make a simple and inexpensive CCD field flattener , with just
2 glass/air surfaces . There are 2 different radii of curvature models
available , so it would presumably fit different focal plane curvature
systems.
I'm tempted to get one if there are no replies and measure somehow the
actual resolution or fiber size .
Best regards,
matt tudor
