Hello

I was just thinking,  couldn't you take a large refractive lens (a negative
one so it would be concave) and thus it would make the beams of light tend
to diverge apart before it gets to the diagonal.  Then the cone of light
would be small enough, then once it's at the edge of the tube, you could put
a focal reducer there (a positive lens) and make the cone of light a wider
one.

Is this a good idea?
