Vlad, you're not thinking!   You have one piece that is like this )( and the
other which is like this () and when you look at them, they both need the
same thickness of blank.  ONE gets the edges ground down and becomes the ()
while the other gets the centers ground out and gets the shape of
his )( and you can't add material to the concave piece so you have to start
thick!
