[ATM] Maksutof corrector minimum thickness
Here's an exercise for the MATH whizzes on the atm
list...
If I have a Fused Quartz blank 20 inches diameter and
2.375 thick, can it be generated into a corrector for
a 20 inch Maksutov?
I was thinking that it might not be thick enough
but...
If I were to leave the central portion of the second
surface flat (that portion ahead of the separate RUMAK
secondary) or core out the center, that I could use a
thinner blank than would be required if I were to use
an aluminized spot on the second surface.
So here's the questions...
1. What would the thickness need to be for a 20 inch
diameter corrector for a F4/16 or f4/20 Maksutov if
thickness of the blank were not an issue?
2. What would the thickness need to be to generate the
corrector if I planned to leave the center of the
second surface flat?
3. Is there a Maksutov corrector calculator on the web
somewhere?
