RE: [ATM] My aluminium 12.5" Scope web site
Brent,
Very nice job!
Tell us more about the rolling operation for the upper ring? Describe the
equipment and how did you maintain alignment during the roll to ensure the
ends match up? Also how did you roll to the correct size because the last 4
or so inches would have not passed through all of the rollers. Did you have
to cut the last few inches off and reform?
Thanks,
Peter

Subject: [ATM] My aluminium 12.5" Scope web site
Hi All,
Almost done with my telescope. The mirror is close to finished and the
scope body is done. So for those interested here is a website that
outlines it's construction. It is almost all aluminium and cost around
$350. The glass I had sitting in my garage for a LONG time and when I
bought it I paid only $25 I think. Any way interested to hear your
comments on the scope. PS There is now baffling opposite the focuser.
I'll update the pic when I take one of the finished product. I am
waiting for it to come back from the anodisers.
