[ATM] re: Maksotov corrector design

    You forgot to mention that you solved your square roots with Log tables.
Drill bit tolerances haven't changed much, and the shank can be as much as
.002 inch smaller than the nominal drill size because of "backoff" that
prevents the drill from seizing in a deep hole.
    I agree about the Mak as a first, it is a big hunk of glass to play with
unless you are familiar with good optical practices. Tolerances are tight
for the corrector. Polishing the deep concave surface is not as easy as a
f/3 mirror!
