It's probably crazy to do it for a small scope < 12" but it's really
the only practical way to have a large and portable telescope that
tracks. $1500 sounds like a lot *but* to someone who's shelled out
$15,000 for a 25" non-tracking Dob it's a small price to pay to
get polar tracking (or so I've been told by a number of my customers).
