Dear Mr. Bock,
        This sounds like a personal matter between you and Mr. Clausing,
not for general consumption.

        I had a bad experience with a coating place that dropped my mirror
and was mad as hell when they said they weren't responsible, but after much
angst a settlement was reached. Much as I would love to flame or expose
them, in the end I did reach a settlement and I keep it to myself, out of
fairness- not because I am bound to. I had used them before and they are a
business.
        The only advice I would give to folks on the list is please check a
company's policy before using them, so there won't be any surprises either
way.
        You usually hear about a place only when something goes bad, and I
am sure for the majority of coatings places, this is a rarity or they
wouldn't be in business if they had a majority of disatisfied customers.
        It isn't fair to Mr. Clausing and his business for all this traffic
to be devoted to one bad incident, unless, of course, we flood this
listserver with all the testimonials of satisfied customers that have used
Clausing coatings over the years.
