Re: ATM Coating Stains



I remember extensive conversations with George Montreith of Morvac,
before he died, where he talked about the difficulty of removing some
coatings.  He said that even two weeks in strong hydrocloric acid would
not do the trick, and sometimes, repolishing was the only option.

It's my opinion that coatings are never a 'given', and that one of the
questions that should be asked far more than it is, is simply, "Now,
someday, I will recoat, so how hard will it be to remove the coating you
are depositing for me?"
