ATM LED Flashlights
The easiest LED flashlight I've found, is to take a Radio Shack 276-026
red LED rated at 2.0 volts and cut the leads to a length that give the
same overall length as a Mini-Mag light bulb, and then replace the
mini-mag bulb with the LED. If it doesn't light pull it out turn it 180
degrees and reinsert it. While it is definately working at a higher
than spec voltage they last a long time, longer than the original bulb
before they have to be replaced, and they're cheap. The LED is slightly
larger in diameter than the Mini-Mag bulb, and it is necessary to ream
out the hole in the reflector. This is easily done with a drill,
although I've seen them "hogged" out with a pocket knife. I'd recommend
the drill; neater hole.
Give it a try,
