As the chip has not greatly impacted the mirror surface I suggest moving
on. When you bevel this part of the edge you will get a slight indent, but
it won't make any difference to the image. You are right though. It is a
tragedy, but minor. We all want our mirrors to be perfect in every way.
Why, I can still remember when my new car came home from the showroom and
my son in his excitement scratched the side with his belt buckle. Yes, he
lived and the old rust bucket still runs fine.
