ATM finder lens

     I have just received a small achromate with which I plan to construct
a finder for my 8" f/6 Newtonian.

     Here is my question:  does it matter which way the lens is mounted?
I realise that it does not matter as far as the incoming light is
concerned, but it occured to me that one of the elements might be harder
than the other and so should should be the outward facing one.
