I'm not arguing, just pointing out two differences:

1) Color...your stopped 16 should be perfect.

2) Eyepiece performance:  As the axial rays (WRT eyepiece axis)
are missing, your EP does not gain the benefit of working with 
an f/12 light cone.  You could buy several sets of Naglers
for the $4000 dollar difference, but even a Nagler works
better at f/12 than f/6.
