Yeah this list is biased to the Dobson telescope. As one post
states why make a Cass. when a Newt. will do the job. I was once
asked why I made a large Schmidt camera when a small one would do the job.
That just like asking why a mountain climber climbs mountain.
There are several equatorial mounts in the "outdated TM mags".
To recommend a equatorial mount you need to state your construction
capabilities, hand tools, some power tools, all out wood shop,
metal machine shop. As I started telescope making in BD (before Dobson)
all my mounts have been equatorial except for one Dob I made in a day when
Halley's comet was around. Yeah it looks like it <G> Must admit I still
use the thing now and them. Sometimes the nails come loose but a rap
with the hammer and she is ready to go :-) It a little 12.5" f4.
Anyhow with a little more info I will see what I can dig up.
