ATM Telescope mounts

I am currently in the process of designing and building an 8" telescope
for CCD imaging. I have the mirror and mirror mount, tube design,
spider, eyepiece assembly, nearly everything else I need. What I am
lacking is a suitable mount design. It seems that there is very little
discussion here on actual telescope mounts and I haven't been able to
locate much literature any where else on mounts either. I'm interested in
either and equatorial or German fork type mounts or possible a
split-ring mount.

I find it kind of interesting that there is so little discussion on
mounts here because the best mirror in the world will do little good if
it is not resting on a suitable mount.

I've also got a question that may be slightly off topic but I thought one
of you atm'ers out there might have the answer to. I have been looking
for an astronomical formulae to determine the altitude and azimuth of
the SUN given a particular latitude, longitude, date and time of day.
Anyone know this formulae or know where I might look to try to find it?

Thanks for any help you may have,
