 Oh, me, oh my, when things are too tight, but must be 
made to fit, a liberal dose of lubricating jelly is in order!! <g>

 Your mileage (gulp) may vary... :)

 Seriously, though, I did use minute amounts of it on the original
 "Low Cost" focuser supplied with an old blue Coulter 13 to
 keep it travelling smoothly...
