ATM Collimation JSO Schmitt Camera
Hi everyone,
I've been asked by a friend to canvas the ATM forum to see if someone
out there can help him.
He has a JSO 6 inch Schmitt Camera (400mm f2.5). The problem is that
the collimation seems to be out because when he looks at his resulting
negatives he finds half of the image is blurry, ie. focal plane is
skewed.
He says that there are 6 push pull screws behind the film holder but
this does not seem to help him, though I am not sure why not!
Has anyone expereinced a similar problem and how did they fix it? He
does not want to pull the thing to pieces if he can avoid it.
Apparently JSO are no longer in business.
And he also wants to know, how does one achieve point focus. On the
film holder there are various graduations starting from 0 through to 8.
Is there a point focus setting?
My apologies if the questions that I have asked have lost something in
my translation from friend to this forum. I'll clarify things if
required.
Many thanks, clear skies guys.... and gals of course!
Ted
