In-Reply-To: <m0wNXaY-000Fa1C@atheria.europa.com> Message-Id: <Pine.OSF.3.95.970504160933.6561A-100000@del2.vsnl.net.in> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII I am an ATM from New Delhi, India, and have a source for new acromats, 25mm - 60mm costing about Rs 100 to Rs 150. (the Indian currency is Rupees and 37 Rupees equals 1 U.S. Dollar) so you can see that they are quite cheap here. If you send me your postal address, probably i can mail you the acromats. There is a good source of binoculars also at New Delhi, quite cheap Tento binoculars. The optical quality leaves a lot to desire but i have been using them as finderscope with my 8" dob for quite a number of years with satisfaction. Usually i dismantle the binoculars into two monoculars and use as finderscope for two telescopes. Typical cost of a 7 X 50 binocular would be around Rs 1200/- Ajay Talwar ajayt@thepentagon.com On Fri, 2 May 1997, Bruce Swayze wrote: > I want to make a homemade visual finder. > > Has anyone else been as frustrated as I am trying to find lenses to make a > homemade finder? > > I'm looking for something in the 60mm to 80mm size, with a focal length > appropriately short for a low power finder.
