I did my first 6" using a car wheel filled with cement with a 3"dia. piece of pipe sticking out with a big flange and a wood platform on top. Pretty sturdy and easy to walk around. Recent mirrors I've ground and polished on machines, but used a similar setup for hand figuring with pitch and worked OK. \
