While e-mailing Mel I realized that everybody might be interested in what I
was saying. While I was in Australia in March, I visited a store called
Jaycar. They are like a hobbist Radio Shack. Lots of electronic parts and
kits without all the junk. They have a kit, a dual stepper motor driver card
that is practically a carbon copy of the circuit Mel shows in his ALTAZ
file. Thsi kit is $39.95 AUS which is about $30 US. Sorry Mel, after I
mailed you, I found the catalog. This card drives two motors and is designed
so that one printer port can drive 4 stepper boards. There is a PC card and
all parts. Catalog (Catalogue to them) number is KC-5157. It is a real easy
build! There is an offer for software to run the board for $6 plus $3 for
postage and handling in the documentation. You will only need that if you
plan on running the motors without Mels program and don't want to write your
own.
