I have had good luck with Gel Cell batteries from Mfgrs like Yuasa, Panasonic, and others. They have all of the virtues of Lead Acid (which they are) and good discharge characteristics...probably will survive more cycles than your motorcycle batteries which are designed for high current discharge for short times rather than deep discharge.
Contact any battery retailer in your area. A 12 volt 12 AH battery might cost $30-$50.
