I have built a 15.5" Schmidt camera. I used the vacuum cell to warp the
corrector plate and I must say it was a lot of fun. I found it easier to
make the corrector then a good parabola. Any ATM that has make a couple
mirrors should be able to make a corrector if he or she has access to
a lathe to make the vacuum pan.
My future plan is to build a Wright telescope.
If anybody has any interest in doing a corrector just post your question
and I will relay my experiences.
