A mirror we recently tested at the workshop appeared to have a serious TDE, but when we did the old can-you-spot-the-diffraction-ring-all-around the-mirror test, it seemed pretty good. Diffraction effects can play havoc with the Ronchi results at the mirror edge. My usual solution? black out the edge.
