Re: [ATM] Tool Tiles

OVERKILL!!!! The tool will be more than strong enough to do the
job all by itself. I use dental stone of medium strength and
start grinding again about a half hour after I start mixing the
stuff.
As to what works, any of the plasters/stones work well. The
cements also work well.
What doesn't work well is Plaster of Paris (it's water soluble!)
as you have to seal the surface which means you can't bury the
tiles in the plaster, centents with sand in them as the sand will
erode and provide nice large pieces of grit to keep you from ever
finishing the mirror. The long setting stuff is also a problem
unless you plan on taking a few days off while the dang stuff
sets up.
Others have mentioned brand names of the various stuff and it all
works well. Fast setting times are a nicety as you can quickly
get back to work on the glass. Don't worry about getting the
tool dry as you're just going to be wetting it again to do the
grinding. The tool needs to be wet or it will suck up the water
in with the grit and you'll be adding water for a while until the
tool is happy with the water it has.
