Ok, Dave I'll venture a "yes", but after the odd even reflections you lost
me on exactly what my "yes" is for. 

So please enlighten me/us on what you are trying to explain/figure out!

BTW your dear departed are always in my prayers.... Thank you for reminding
us that we are all friends and as such should spare a bit of brain power for
those who no longer grace this earthly plain with their presence.

FOR ALL ATMS:

Let us assume each and every one of you has a slit equipped tester (i.e., 
the light source is confined behind a slit, which has a further layer of 
light diffusing material across it, to eliminate the possibility of the 
reflected light forming a real image, a so-called "aerial image" of the 
light source itself when it is focused down upon the tester, near the 
blade). Let us assume that one has not "cut into" the aerial image of the 
slit. (yet-)

Now, here is a rule, that I have seen, for which it is claimed that it is, 
shall we say, "metaphorically" "set in concrete". And the rule is this:

(1): Odd number of reflections, image is reversed and inverted.

(2); Even number of reflections, image is correct but inverted.

This is for REAL  images, and not virtual images; it is for images that have

been formed by a focusing objective mirror or lens, and then either had 
another single reflection, or not, or multiple reflections.

Now, I may have disremembered this; if so, I will look like the idiot that I

am. However, I do believe that this is the case. If I am mistaken, chastize 
me resoundingly. If not, let us continue.

A simple yes or no will suffice. Then, depending on what say ye all, I shall

reveal something no one heretofore has ever divined (or at least, 
appararently discussed, pertaining to Foucault testing)
