On the other hand, the worst grinders that I've seen are the
"detail nuts" that have to have everything exactly just this way
and no other.  They're the ones that make astigmatic mirrors and
lenses.  Got one right now that is really wanting things done
just so and they have to be exactly the way he says they have to
be.
Just do it and remember that it's only a bit of time to fix any
problem other than a broken piece of glass (you need a big HOT
oven for that job!) and it takes a LOT of hard work to actually
make a mirror really astigmatic to where you have to grind to get
the astigmatism out.
