Ah, yes, the old coal fired telescopes!  Remember them well.  Out
here in California where the fruits and nuts aren't necessarily
plant material (I think!) we had to go to the oil fired types as
the state passed a law about using coal for anything.  Then
again, we didn't need to clean the mirrors as much as there was
less particle soot from the oil burners.  Even the wood burners
had to switch to oil which was a bummer as wood fires smell a lot
nicer than either coal or oil.
