Re: [ATM] Buehler EcoMet #5, 2 speed grinder polisher
I'd be very careful that you can do the work at your job. Firing
offenses can often be very simple things and if you mess up the
job work with your playing around with the equipment, you'll be
in some real trouble!
It looks like you can do nice flats with those polishers but not
anything in the way of spherical surfaces. You can, of course,
always use the turntable as an assist to grinding and polishing
but you still need to be aware of the problems of interrupting
work for the company.
Just for a note, I've seen people that have taken several years
to do a mirror so don't be afraid to put it away for a few months
if things get real busy.
I grind in my bathroom as it is a small bathroom and it is easy
to sit on the commode and reach the vanity where I keep a lazy
susan bearing with a chunk of steel on top of that, covered with
some plywood and grind that way. Water is right at hand from the
sink which makes everything very nice. I've even got one drawer
just for the grinding supplies.
