I am looking for some advice from the many metal workers out there!

I want to bend a piece of rigid brass (.064 x 2" wide) bought at a hobby shop at a fairly sharp right angle.  It seems fairly stiff and I suspect it would not take the bend without problems.  Of course I want it to be stiff after I bend it - so I am in a classic "want my cake and eat it too" problem!

I recall that heating the brass and letting it cool will make it more malleable (is this correct?)  If so, is there a way to get it good and ridged again?  

Any other suggestions?
