Yeah, I admit it's not very likely, but you never know?
The drawing of the venus image and ghosts was from memory, so I don't know
just how stable the images were? Otherwise, Venus is so bright that it
reveals many even minor optical defects in a telescope. In mine for
instance, diffraction from the spider and some more makes it an unpopular
object to me.
I would say that imperfect aluminization and reflection from the mirror back
(mentioned by Jerry) is a good candidate too, especially if the ghosts are
stable. You should be able to see it when looking through the mirror at a
bright lightsource.
