A good practice would be to use classic "W" 1/3 center over center
stokes, for fine grinding to achieve a sphere, tool on top changed
with tool on bottem, rotating both parts as you work. Then pour a pitch
tool and do the same thing as you polish. Resist the urge to "peek"/test
until you have completely polished out your mirror. You should have a
polished sphere at this point, and even if you don't, you will have a
place to start your figuring. If you test too early in the game you
might try to "correct" problems that don't really exist and actually
make the work far more difficult.
